Is yellow square or round?
“All nonsense questions are unanswerable. How many hours are in a mile? Is yellow square or round? Probably half the questions we ask – half our great theological and metaphysical problems – are like that.” ― C.S. Lewis, A Grief Observed
In my role, people often ask me to do things for them that seem really weird to me. “You want your email to do what…? You’re using dropbox for that…?”
It’s like they’re asking for their yellow to be round. They don’t understand yellow, or they don’t understand round.
The easiest thing is to give them what they’re asking for. A yellow circle.
It’s hard to ask them what they want to do with their round yellow – but it has to be done. They need help working out what they want.
Take the time. Ask the questions.
