#edchatnz – I got memed
If you follow me on twitter you’ll know that it was a busy weekend. I was at a conference for teachers who are on twitter.
As the post conference dust settles, there are hundreds of blog posts reflecting on the event. I got tagged in one, and now I have to write a reflection. Here goes:
1. How did you attend the #Edchatnz Conference? (Face 2 Face, followed online or didn’t)
I attended Face 2 Face and twitter almost continually. I think around 180 tweets!
2. How many others attended from your school or organisation?
That’s a funny question. I started my new job as a Professional Learning Consultant on the Monday before the conference. My new employer (TTS) sent around six of us. My old employer, three.
3.How many #Edchatnz challenges did you complete?
I can’t find the #edchatnz challenges sheet, but suffice to say I ended up in a few grelfies (or groufiees…) and was suitably embarrassed a few times.
4. Who are 3 people who you connected with and what did you learn from them?
I spent a lot of time in the car with my old colleagues, @philippaisom and @blominator and I enjoyed an extended exit interview…
5. What session are you gutted that you missed?
I wish I was able to catch this one.
6. Who is one person that you would like to have taken to Edchatnz and what key thing would they have learned?
I would have taken @oilcanv. She’s returning to teaching after many years of being a stay at home mum. And she’s kinda hot.
7. Is there a person you didn’t get to meet/chat with (F2F/online) that you wished you had? Why?
I would have like to have a decent chat with @ipadwells. I think we have a few things in common.
8. What is the next book you are going to read and why?
I’m going to keep working on my Hemingway. #keepitreal
9. What is one thing you plan to do to continue the Education Revolution you learnt about at #EdchatNZ?
I’m encouraged about how much energy there is in the teaching profession. I will take my message of redefining teaching and learning to the schools I visit every day.
10. Will you take a risk and hand your students a blank canvas?
Absolutely!
… and I think I’ll tag @philippaisom and @blominator!
